If elected, what are your plans for office?
Collaborating and interacting with fellow Commission on Dietetic Registration members, the BOD, HOD, CADE, and other appropriate entities, I plan to serve as a proactive visionary committed to embracing change, encouraging and achieving the highest standards for the continuity of excellence in the practice of dietetics, and lifelong professional advancement. I will strongly promote diversity, and advocate that issues of both the DTR and RD are addressed in appropriate ways. In addition, I will comply with and carry out all responsibilities of the Commission including the strategic and operating plans.
Give an example of how you successfully led a team to accomplish an objective/goal.
At the university, I lead a team of 30 or more individuals in planning, implementing and evaluating all convocations and special events for the campus. This is a monumental task, but through careful planning, attention to details and utilizing human, concepual and psycomotor skills, I have been highly successful in bringing all activities to fruition.
Describe your most fulfilling leadership experience.
By far, my most fulfilling leadership experience has been my perserverance and tenacity in mentoring, challenging, encouraging and serving as a role model for numerous minority and culturally diverse students and young dietitians to navigate barriers in their pursuit of jobs and personal niches in the profession of dietetics.
Identify 3 of your strengths/skills that make you an ideal candidate.
I have a high spirit of cooperation and dedication to the advancement of the dietetics profession. Possessing strong visionary and leadership skills and using innovative approaches, I have no doubt that together with my fellow CDR leaders, I will be successful in contributing to advancing the profession through advocating change, embracing diversity, and encouraging professional excellence.
