If elected, what are your plans for office?

If elected, I will strive to engage in cooperative dialogue that will help promote the DTR as a vital part of the nutrition profession by strengthening concept of the RD/DTR team.

Give an example of how you successfully led a team to accomplish an objective/goal.

As a member of a team of DTRs and nutrition assistants, I was able to provide support and insight on transitioning a patient menu collection system from a next day format to one using a same day format. As the sole DTR, who had knowledge and experience in same day menu collection, I was able to assist in the food and nutrition department's development of a more contemporary system that could meet the preferences of patients in an acute care facility.

Describe your most fulfilling leadership experience.

It is hard to pinpoint just one experience as being my most fulfilling. Most of my leadership experiences have been in mentorship or supportive roles. I am often called upon to train new nutrition assistants. As a member of a cohesive team the training outcomes have reflected the development of nutrition assistants who are well-versed in the intracacies of therapeutic diets.

Identify 3 of your strengths/skills that make you an ideal candidate.

I feel one of my strengths is that I work well as a member of a team. I also am able to thoughtfully consider all viewpoints when making a decision once I have listened to a variety of ideas. Finally, I strive to be an effective communicator as this is vital to being a professional.
