Contributions and Leadership Achievements.
If elected, what are your plans for office?
Many issues are facing the profession. We need to be at the table for health care reform and ensure that we are recognized as the leaders in food and nutrition. Let us look to the future and see how our profession measures up to others. How can we best position ourselves for competition? What skills do we need to achieve success? How do we best hone these skills? I am committed to our success and to moving the profession forward. Give an example of how you successfully led a team to accomplish an objective/goal.
Leading a team is not always easy. As the Speaker of the House, I was able to move the House Leadership Team and House of Delegates forward. Through my diplomacy and leadership we discussed important topics including health disparities, linguistic competence, and dietetic education always looking to advanced the profession and Association through conversation and action. Describe your most fulfilling leadership experience.
Having been in dietetic education for years, I have much passion for it. I spearheaded discussion by the Board of Directors on the formation of an Education Committee and am most proud that eductors have a direct voice to the Board. As the Vice-Chair of the Education Committee I am working tirelessly to ensure that a centralized application is in place in a timely manner. Identify 3 of your strengths/skills that make you an ideal candidate.
Vision- I am someone who looks at the big picture and is not intimidated but thrives at looking at what can be. Drive- I have lots of energy and enthusiasm for all I do and am willing to do whatever needs to be done! Excellent people skills- I truly enjoy working with others and am able to bring people together to work effectively. |
